Melanie Stone

Another Brick In The Wall

#8

This is my daughter Melanie's race car, she has decided to follow her dad and give racing a try. She went from cheer, for which she had competed for 5 years, three with an elite team out of Modesto "Power Cheer". Her  team took the Grand National twice, National wins several times and countless Regionals.

Her dad started racing at Merced Speedway when she was 4 in 1996, he started in the California Lil' Trucks and won the Championship one year, since then he has been racing in the IMCA Modified class, you can check his web site out from the link here on this page or go to stoneracing.net.

We received a letter from Merced Speedway about 8 to 6 weeks prior to the start of the season with information that they were going to start this new class for 14 years and up. Melanie being 15 decided to give it a try. (For more info on this class go to link page).

End of 2007 season Melanie had totaled her 1st car with an incident with one of her competitors. She received a new car from 8T8 Jim Brewers sister and brother law. during the season they had a high of 5 cars, a few weeks of 3 about half the season with 2. She finished the season with the Track and State Championship, 19th in the nation out of more than 129 competitors. She is eager to go into the Hobby Stocks class, we have decided though to have her race one more year in this class.

This last race there were 6 cars to compete with, they were very competitive. We have seen how competitive Melanie has become and her dad, family & along with myself is so proud of the way she has really improved with her racing skills, she handles the car, tra ck and getting around the others.
Keep up the good work this should be a good season for all of  you;-}
